Doctor’s Morning Matcha Chai:
A Way to Enjoy the Benefits of Matcha
Like most people I have a daily morning routine. First thing in the morning I have a glass of water with a dash of organic apple cider vinegar. Eventually, after morning meditation and such (breathing, exercise), I make my morning Chai. I thought others might enjoy my Matcha Chai so here’s the recipe, though keep in mind that I never measure anything so it is a little different every day!
Ingredients for one:
- Matcha (powdered green tea leaves)1 tsp.
- Fresh ginger to taste.
- Cardamom ¼ tsp
- Pumpkin pie spice ¼ tsp.
- Coconut milk powder one big tsp. (makes it creamy)
- Almond milk ½ cup
- Coconut sugar to taste.
Replacements, deletions, &quantities as per your taste.
Instructions:
- Blend sliced ginger in ¾ C water, heat to boil and then reduce heat to slow boil.
- In the meantime, add the almond milk, or other favourite milk to the blender and add all the other ingredients.
- Blend and then add the ginger tea through a fine mesh sieve and press with a spoon to get all the ginger tea out.
- Blend again, heat without boiling and enjoy.
The health benefits of Matcha are considerable. The following article from the medical research database published in 2020 contains a thorough review.
