Through consultation, in-person or via online FaceTime or Skype, we can create a program that is tailored to your needs, with the attention and focus you deserve.

What Will a Visit Be Like?

Your first visit typically involves a detailed discussion of your health history, lifestyle, and symptoms to create a personalized treatment plan.

A first visit involves an interview of forty-five minutes to one and a half hours for adults and approximately half this for children. Knowing about you as a person is very important in homeopathy and to our holistic approach. Along with a detailed look at your main concerns, we will look at other aspects of your physical health, as well as something of your nature, personality, and history, as well as your moods and attitudes. The purpose is to develop a thorough picture that will help us find the most appropriate approach to your health concerns. It is also necessary for the selection of a homeopathic remedy.

Our extensive counselling experience can be of great benefit in identifying patterns of thinking and behaviour that are relevant to your best health. In some cases, we offer creative solutions to help you grow in self-awareness and find new skills for making more effective choices. Health is freedom and freedom of being is the greatest freedom.

Tests or procedures that we are not able to offer will be referred.

What Happens after a consultation?

Follow-up visits allow your practitioner to monitor progress, adjust your treatment, and provide ongoing support.

Follow-up visits are usually scheduled for three to six week intervals and last 20 to 40 minutes. When progress is well established visits are less frequent.

Usually, a homeopathic remedy will be given at the conclusion of the interview, though sometimes a case will be studied before prescribing. Often there is phone or email contact between visits. The homeopathic remedy may be prescribed in one dose, in several doses or for daily use.

The homeopathic remedy acts as a catalyst, stimulating the self-healing forces of the body as a whole, whereas botanical and nutritional factors are prescribed for particular conditions.

What Kind of Results Can I Expect?

Results vary depending on the condition being treated, but many people experience significant improvements in their overall well-being.

Acute (short term) issues should respond quickly. Chronic (long-term) health problems may improve very quickly in some cases or gradually in others. In some cases only one homeopathic remedy will be all that is needed, and in other cases an integrated approach utilizing homeopathy, dietary, nutritional and botanical medicines will be required over a period of months to achieve the best effect.

In general, children respond quickly as compared with adults.

The Role of Diet

Nutrition is a key component of naturopathic treatment. Your practitioner may recommend dietary changes to support your healing process.

No one should doubt that the quality of the diet is a critical factor in the overall picture of health. Some cases can be helped with dietary changes alone, while the best of diets has little effect for others. In certain cases, dietary habits may be a definite obstruction to cure and advice can be expected in such instances.

If you have questions on diet, please be sure to ask. We are happy to help you discover a dietary approach suited to your needs and circumstance.

Regenerative nutrition is choosing food in a manner that supports repair in the body and prevents damage. We always recommend a diet that is high in vegetables, whole grains (wheat being an exception), legumes, fruits and berries, nuts and seeds. Plant foods should be at least eighty percent of the diet. Our Regenerative Nutrition program covers the philosophy and practice of a natural food plant-based diet.

What Conditions Can Be Treated with Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a natural, holistic approach to health that can address a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. By stimulating the body’s self-healing abilities, homeopathic remedies support physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Many individuals turn to homeopathy as a gentle and effective alternative or complement to conventional treatments.

Common Conditions Treated with Homeopathy

  • Allergies and Respiratory Issues: Homeopathy can provide relief from seasonal allergies, hay fever, asthma, and sinus infections. Remedies are chosen based on specific symptoms and individual responses to allergens.
  • Anxiety, Depression, and Stress: Homeopathic treatments can support emotional health, addressing anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and stress-related symptoms. By considering the mental and emotional state of the patient, homeopathy offers personalized care for psychological well-being.
  • Digestive Disorders: Conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), acid reflux, indigestion, and bloating may respond well to homeopathic treatment. Remedies aim to restore balance to the digestive system and alleviate discomfort.
  • Skin Conditions: Chronic skin issues like eczema, psoriasis, acne, and rashes are often treated with homeopathy. By addressing internal imbalances, homeopathic remedies can promote healthier skin without the side effects of conventional treatments.
  • Women’s Health Concerns: Homeopathy offers support for menstrual irregularities, hormonal imbalances, menopausal symptoms, and fertility challenges. Remedies are selected to relieve discomfort and restore hormonal harmony.
  • Chronic Pain and Inflammatory Conditions: Homeopathic care can help manage pain caused by arthritis, migraines, fibromyalgia, and other chronic conditions. It works by reducing inflammation and encouraging the body’s natural pain management processes.
  • Sleep Disorders: For those struggling with insomnia, restless sleep, or frequent waking, homeopathic remedies can address underlying stress, anxiety, or hormonal imbalances that may be disrupting rest.
  • Children’s Health: Homeopathy is often used for common childhood concerns, including colic, ear infections, teething pain, and behavioral issues. Its gentle nature makes it a safe option for infants and children.

Can Homeopathy Help You?

Homeopathy is personalized, meaning two people with the same condition may receive different remedies based on their unique symptoms and health history. Whether you’re managing a chronic illness, seeking relief from acute symptoms, or looking for natural emotional support, homeopathy offers a tailored approach to healing.

About Homeopathy & Naturopathy

What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a natural form of medicine that uses small doses of natural substances to stimulate the body’s healing response.

Homeopathy is an advanced natural healing science whose tremendous contributions to natural health care has been proven for over two hundred years. Homeopathy can be of slue in a wide range of physical and emotional conditions of adults, children and animals. Homeopathic medicines are non-toxic and have no side effects. In Homeopathy, very small doses of medicines are carefully selected based on a healing principle called The Law of Similars. This law states that any substance that can produce symptoms on a healthy person can cure very similar symptoms in those who are unwell. This law is most effective used when the distinct and peculiar symptoms of the specific patient align with the characteristic symptoms of the remedy.

Today homeopathy is practiced all over the world by medical doctors, professional homeopaths, naturopathic physicians and others. While there are exciting new developments in remedies and method, the basic methods of homeopathy remain very close to the teachings of Samuel Hahnemann circa (1755-1843) Samuel Hahnemann was a German physician who founded the system of Homeopathy at the end of the seventeenth century, which is why it is often termed classical homeopathy.

How Does Homeopathy Work?

Homeopathy is based on the principle of “like cures like” and uses highly diluted substances to stimulate the body’s self-healing mechanisms.

How is Homeopathy different than Conventional Medicine?

Homeopathy and conventional medicine are two distinct approaches to health and healing, each with its own principles and methods. While both aim to alleviate symptoms and restore well-being, they differ significantly in their treatment philosophies.

  • Treating the Individual, Not Just the Disease: Homeopathy is a highly personalized form of medicine that focuses on treating the individual as a whole. Rather than addressing only the physical symptoms, homeopaths consider the patient’s emotional, mental, and physical well-being. Every treatment plan is carefully tailored to the patient’s unique symptoms, experiences, and overall health picture. In contrast, conventional medicine typically uses standardized treatments aimed at managing or suppressing symptoms without always addressing the root cause.
  • Holistic and Gentle Healing: Homeopathy uses highly diluted natural substances to stimulate the body’s self-healing ability. These remedies are selected based on the principle of “like cures like,” meaning a substance that causes symptoms in a healthy person can be used in diluted form to treat similar symptoms in an ill person. This gentle, non-invasive approach often results in fewer side effects compared to conventional medications, which may involve stronger pharmaceutical drugs or invasive procedures.
  • Addressing the Root Cause: Homeopathic care seeks to identify and resolve the underlying causes of health issues, not merely suppress the symptoms. Conventional medicine, while effective for acute conditions and emergencies, often focuses on symptom management through medications or surgeries. Homeopathy, on the other hand, works to restore balance and stimulate long-term healing.
  • Complementary Care: While homeopathy can be used as a standalone treatment, it can also complement conventional medical care. Many patients choose an integrative approach, using homeopathy alongside traditional treatments to enhance overall well-being and manage chronic conditions more effectively.

Conclusion: If you’re seeking a personalized, holistic approach to health that addresses the root cause of your concerns, homeopathy may be an excellent option. For acute or emergency medical situations, conventional medicine remains essential. By combining both approaches, many individuals experience well-rounded and effective care.

How is Naturopathy different than Conventional Medicine?

Naturopathy and conventional medicine take different approaches to health and healing. While both aim to improve well-being, they differ in their methods, philosophy, and treatment focus.

  1. Holistic Approach vs. Symptom Management: Naturopathy views the body as an interconnected system, addressing the root causes of illness rather than just managing symptoms. Conventional medicine often uses pharmaceuticals or surgery to treat specific symptoms or diseases, while naturopathic care focuses on identifying and resolving underlying imbalances.
  2. Personalized and Preventative Care: Naturopathic practitioners create personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual’s unique health needs, considering factors like lifestyle, genetics, and environment. Preventative care is a key focus, helping patients maintain long-term wellness. Conventional medicine, on the other hand, typically emphasizes disease diagnosis and management using standardized protocols.
  3. Natural Therapies and Minimal Side Effects: Naturopathy relies on natural therapies, including nutritional counseling, herbal medicine, homeopathy, and lifestyle modifications. These treatments support the body’s inherent ability to heal itself with minimal side effects. Conventional medicine often involves pharmaceutical drugs, which may come with more pronounced side effects.
  4. Collaborative Care: While naturopathic doctors are trained in modern diagnostics and may recommend laboratory testing, they also work alongside conventional healthcare providers when necessary. This collaborative approach ensures patients receive comprehensive, integrative care.

Conclusion: Choosing between naturopathy and conventional medicine depends on your health goals and preferences. If you’re looking for a natural, whole-body approach that addresses the root cause of health issues, naturopathy can be a valuable option. For acute or emergency medical situations, conventional medicine remains essential. Many individuals find that combining both approaches offers the best path to optimal health.

Is Homeopathy Safe?

Yes, homeopathy is considered safe for people of all ages. As a natural and non-invasive form of medicine, it is often chosen for its gentle effects and minimal risk of side effects. Homeopathic remedies are made from highly diluted natural substances, making them a safe option for infants, children, adults, seniors, and even pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Why Is Homeopathy Safe?

  • Non-Toxic and Gentle: Homeopathic remedies are prepared using a process called potentization, which involves extreme dilution and vigorous shaking. This process removes any toxic effects while enhancing the healing properties of the substance. As a result, homeopathic remedies are non-toxic and generally free from harmful side effects.
  • Safe for All Ages: Homeopathy is often used for babies, children, and the elderly due to its gentle nature. It can help manage common childhood concerns like colic, teething, and ear infections without the side effects that may accompany conventional medications.
  • Suitable During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Pregnant women frequently turn to homeopathy for relief from nausea, heartburn, anxiety, and other pregnancy-related symptoms. Since homeopathic remedies are free from synthetic chemicals, they are generally safe to use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, under the guidance of a qualified practitioner.
  • No Risk of Dependency or Interactions: Unlike some conventional medications, homeopathic remedies are not habit-forming and do not cause dependency. Additionally, they are often safe to use alongside other treatments, including conventional medicine and supplements, making homeopathy a valuable part of integrative care.
  • Individualized Treatment: Homeopathy focuses on personalized care, selecting remedies based on a person’s specific symptoms and overall health. This individualized approach further enhances safety by ensuring treatments are well-suited to each person’s needs.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Side effects from homeopathy are extremely rare. In some cases, individuals may experience a temporary worsening of symptoms, known as a healing response or “homeopathic aggravation.” This is often a sign that the body is responding to the remedy and initiating the healing process. A qualified homeopathic practitioner can monitor and adjust treatments as needed to ensure comfort and effectiveness.

Is Homeopathy Right for You?

Homeopathy is widely used as a complementary or alternative therapy for a variety of health conditions. If you’re considering homeopathy, consult with a licensed practitioner who can create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific health concerns.

What is the Difference Between Homeopathy and Naturopathy?

Homeopathy and naturopathy are both forms of natural medicine, but they differ in their methods and treatment scope.

  • Homeopathy: Homeopathy is a distinct system of medicine that uses highly diluted natural substances, known as remedies, to stimulate the body’s self-healing response. Remedies are selected based on a person’s specific symptoms and emotional state, following the principle of “like cures like.” It is a focused modality used to treat both acute and chronic conditions with minimal side effects.
  • Naturopathy: Naturopathy is a broader, integrative approach to health care that combines multiple natural therapies. These may include herbal medicine, clinical nutrition, homeopathy, acupuncture, detoxification, and lifestyle counseling. Naturopathic doctors aim to treat the root cause of illness, support the body’s natural healing processes, and promote long-term wellness through personalized care.

In Summary: Homeopathy is a specific therapeutic system focused on symptom-based remedies, while naturopathy is a comprehensive healthcare approach that incorporates a wide range of natural treatments. Both can be used independently or together, depending on your health needs and goals.

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is a holistic approach that combines traditional healing methods with modern medical knowledge to promote wellness.

Naturopathic physicians are skilled health care professionals focused on health enhancement and disease treatment through non-toxic protocols that are intended to stimulate the body’s natural ability to self-heal. The four year post-graduate naturopathic medical program is an extensive training in the medical arts and sciences.

The practice of naturopathic medicine is licensed in various states and provinces, including prescriptive rights in a number of states and the province of British Columbia. The practice of naturopathic medicine in B.C., requires graduation from a recognized four year institution followed by comprehensive licensing examination. Licensed practitioners in B.C. are regulated by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of British Columbia

Naturopathic physicians may specialize in particular therapeutic sciences. The Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians is a specialty association that offers Diplomate status to naturopathic physicians meeting training, examination and continuing education requirements.

What is Botanical Medicine?

Botanical or Herbal medicines are often used in naturopathy to support the body’s natural healing processes.

The use of plant medicines, called herbal or botanical medicine, is a time honoured tradition spanning every culture and all of human history. Thousands of traditional plant medicines from around the world are now being subject to careful analysis and clinical research, helping us understand their precise value. This scientific work has made it possible to apply plant medicines with far greater precision and effectiveness. We very often use botanical medicines with patients as they have many benefits.

Botanical or Herbal medicines can aid in the healing of damaged and inflamed tissue, protect, nourish, refresh and invigorate specific organs, restore or enhance mental ability and memory, increase physical resilience to physical and mental stress, enhance cellular function, help men and women’s health issues, as well as lessen the effects of aging, among their many values. They tend to have very few or nil side-effects.

What are Nutritional Therapies?

Nutritional therapies are a cornerstone of naturopathy, supporting the body’s natural healing processes by providing essential nutrients for optimal health.

Modern nutritional therapy has advanced significantly beyond traditional vitamins and minerals. It now includes the therapeutic use of a wide range of nutrient factors designed to optimize bodily functions, promote overall well-being, and assist in the prevention and treatment of various health conditions.

Nutritional medicine can play a vital role in healing damaged or inflamed tissues, protecting and rejuvenating specific organs, and enhancing mental clarity and memory. It can also boost resilience against physical and mental stress, support men’s and women’s health concerns, and mitigate the effects of aging. With minimal to no side effects, these therapies offer a safe and effective approach to achieving and maintaining vibrant health.

What are Homeopathic Remedies?

Homeopathic remedies are made from natural substances and prepared using a process of dilution and succession (vigorous shaking).

The homeopathic medicines, called remedies, are prepared by homeopathic pharmaceutical manufacturers according to strictest standards.. Over 2500 substances provide the source materials.

Knowledge about each remedy is primarily derived from experiments called provings. In provings, a group of people take very small doses of the substance that is being tested in blinded and double blind experiments. This means the subjects are unaware of the substance being tested and the administrators may also be unaware. The subjects record in detail their mental, emotional and physical changes during the days and weeks after taking the substances. When this information is combined with other sources of knowledge, as well as clinical experience, a clear picture emerges of the pattern and range of action of each substance. The detailed image of the systems affected and the unique symptoms of the remedy form a picture of the remedy almost as if it were a person.

Hahnemann also developed a method to eliminate the toxic side effects of crude medicines, while enhancing their homeopathic potency. The medicinal substance is first rendered into a liquid form through various means. The next step involves dilution and succession. In the dilution phase, the pharmacist adds a portion of the liquid preparation to a measured amount of distilled water, generally one part medicine to a hundred parts fluid. In the second step, succession, the dilution is struck repeatedly against a solid surface. A portion is then added to a further measured amount of water in the same ratio. These steps will be repeated over and over to the desired dilution.

The clinical experience of tens of thousands of homeopathic physicians for over two centuries has consistently shown the remarkable power of the high dilutions when homeopathically applied. It is generally observed that high potency (more dilute) remedies have a more rapid, deep and lasting action as compared to the low potencies (less dilute). The fineness of the homeopathic dilutions has been a source of great controversy throughout homeopathic history. Yet, along with the wealth of clinical experience, there is an ever growing body of scientific research supporting the biological action of high dilution substances. There is also a growing body of clinical research showing the value of homeopathy for both treatment and prevention.
